La leyenda del buscador (Legend of the seeker) se centra en la historia de Richard Cypher, un leñador que tras intentando encontrar respuestas sobre la muerte de su padre se encuentra con Kahlan Amnell, una extraña mujer, y con Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, un viejo mago. Los tres formaran parte de una profecía que se cierne sobre Millennia, la búsqueda de la verdad. Y así, intentarán salvar la tierra media de las manos de el temido Rahl el Oscuro, rey de D'Hara.
